Primary Summer Camp

This summer, RKMS Primary campers will join Miss Stephanie to become Marine Biologists, learn what it means to be an American, study entomology, and discover Japanese culture and traditions. With four camp themes and field trips, swimming lessons every week, and time outside everyday to play, RKMS camp is the summer adventure your child will love.

Swim lessons at Splash Landings Indoor Aquatic Center at the Glen, field trips, and transportation to and from these events are included with camp tuition. Students will end their day eating lunch (food not included) with friends and teachers.  Please note, new RKMS students must be registered for a minimum of 3 consecutive weeks of camp, and returning RKMS students be must registered for a minimum of any 4 weeks.

Weeks 1 & 2 - Ocean Exploration

Become a Marine Biologist for two weeks! Students will take a tour of the ocean and the life teeming within it. Week two will culminate with a field trip to the Shedd Aquarium, providing students an up-close encounter with the animals they’ve been studying.

Weeks 3 & 4 - This Land was Made for You and Me

What does it mean to be an American? During these two weeks, students will explore American traditions and learn about the country we live in. These two weeks end with a trip to Wrigley Field to experience the great American pastime, baseball!

Weeks 5 & 6 - Secret Life of Insects

Is a spider an insect? What about a worm? For two weeks, students will take on the role of an entomologist, studying a variety of insects and learning the differences between them. At the end of two weeks, students will swarm down to the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum to view an array of insects.

Weeks 7 & 8 - “Konnichiwa, Japan!”

Students will immerse themselves in Japanese culture, traditions, and language for two weeks. They will learn about Japan’s place in the world, explore the symbols and artifacts of the culture, and even participate in a karate lesson at a local Dojo.
